Yanni Live The Concert Event 2006 Bluray 108021 is a 2007 concert by Greek pianist and composer Yanni, with a live album from the show. It was recorded in the Dominican Republic on October 20, 2006. The concert takes place in a circular format in front of a large audience at the Pablo International Airport's terminal building in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Unusual for Yanni concerts, this performance sees Yanni play piano only on certain songs and include some acoustic guitar playing by Keith Nichols on others. This is also one of two concerts where he played his own arrangement of "Sabre Dance". "Tribute" features violinist Antonio Arca performing with Yannis while he plays piano. It is described as having an additional feature to it, since this performance has a different set of "curtain" graphics to the audience and performers at the venue. The audience's screens (which cover most wall space in each dome) appear to be larger than normal, and likewise the stage lighting effects seem even more intense than normal. The concert features songs from Yanni's earlier work which he either attempted to perform live for the first time or made major re-orchestrations of their live recordings. The album also includes two songs from Yanni's 2007 album "", but despite being advertised as part of the show, only one song ("Glad You Came" featuring David Foster) was actually performed during this tour. Disc 1: Disc 2: Disc 3: The Blu-ray contains three DVDs along with a CD. All three DVDs contain a full-length 5.1 DTS audio mix in Dolby Digital format, and a Dolby Digital 2.0 audio/video mix in 16:9 Widescreen for use with non-Blu-ray players. The concert is 217 minutes long and contains three audio tracks, two video tracks and two subtitle tracks all encoded in MPEG2 format. The audio tracks are the DTS audio from the Blu-ray disc (mono or 5.1), Dolby Digital Audio 2. 0, and PCM Stereo. The video tracks are the MPEG2 DTS 5.1 video from the Blu-ray disc and a standard MPEG2 video. The third DVD is a bonus features disc with the following features: In addition, there is a "hidden" feature which is not mentioned on any of the packaging or in any of Yanni's promotional material: A hidden chapter of "Truth Of Touch" set to the backdrop of album cover photos and graphics of Yanni's studio in Santorini, Greece. The concert was released on DVD and Blu-ray October 15, 2007 by Sony BMG, although copies became available earlier than that through online retailers such as Walmart. It has been released through Sony Music, Curb Records who distributes Yanni's catalog, and the Warner Music Group. The concert was released on DVD November 29, 2007 in Europe, January 14, 2008 in Australia, February 5, 2008 in the US. All releases were released by Sony BMG except for Japan where it was released by Universal Music Japan. The Blu-ray release for this concert is not shown on the standard Blu-ray format listed above; instead it is only available as part of the Yanni Live Collection. The show received mixed to negative reviews from music critics following its October 20 performance. cfa1e77820
