Riya is a fighter. Her life has not been easy, and she has always had to fight for what she has wanted, but this time her hopes and dreams are shattered by unforeseen circumstances. It's not until her sister takes pity on her that she finds herself in the company of people who accept her for who she is and don't see anything wrong with her. It's then that Riya realizes that it's okay to give up the fight when the battle becomes too much to bear because in their eyes, all of them were fighters worth fighting for. Riya then starts to realize that when it comes to love, there is a fine line between pushing someone away in self-preservation and holding on in the fear of letting go. She knows somewhere in the middle of this battle she's fighting is a story worth telling. "Tinga Tinga Tales: Riya's Tale" is a wonderful animated movie for all ages by Paul Briggs and his talented team at Cartoon Saloon. It has been written and directed by Paul and produced by Cartoon Saloon, Rosemary Curley and Anne Madden. The "Tinga Tinga Tales" is the first animated series produced by Cartoon Saloon, an award-winning animation studio. The series was created by Paul Briggs and Rosemary Curley in collaboration with Anne Madden and a host of African writers and directors. Its aim is to reach a new generation of children in Africa to inspire them to create their own stories in an accessible way, through animation. The characters were created in a spirit of tolerance and respect for all people, cultures and traditions. The Tales are based on a family of talking animals living in the Serengeti and it's their stories that lie at the heart of "Tinga Tinga Tales: Riya's Tale". The characters include: A brave and mischievous cheetah cub who is Riya’s best friend. He is always getting himself into trouble and loves to play pranks on his friends. Riya’s older sister who is always there to look out for her younger sibling. She has a kind heart and a generous spirit, but she also has a feisty side that comes out whenever anybody tries to mess with her or her loved ones. A dog with a heart of gold. He’s very protective of his friends and has no problem sacrificing himself to protect them from harm. An egret who likes to think she is the smartest bird around and there is nothing she can’t do. She loves to show off and teach others how to do things, even if she has never done them herself. The story of Riya comes from many sources – some personal, some imaginative – but it mostly stems from my own experiences as a writer and as a woman placed in an environment where I am constantly surrounded by the demands of education, career, family commitments and society at large. cfa1e77820
